Meet HeyHi: Helping Every Learner Find Their Path with AI

HeyHi vs TheignitionAI

HeyHi, a Singapore-based EdTech startup, is reimagining the future of personalised learning with AI at its core. Built to empower educators across classrooms and corporate training environments, the platform takes the heavy lifting out of assessment, content creation, and progress tracking, making it easier than ever to support every learner as well as educator. We sat down with Glenn Low, HeyHi’s passionate Co-founder and COO, to uncover the journey behind this transformative education platform.

The Journey to Success

From the moment the conversation began, it was clear that HeyHi wasn’t just a technology play—it was a mission to make personalised learning possible on a nationwide scale.

1. What specific problem did you set out to solve when starting HeyHi, and why was it meaningful to you?

HeyHi was created to address a gap Glenn had observed too many times: the struggle educators face in personalising education at scale. “We set out to solve the challenge of delivering scalable personalised education,” he said, explaining how manual tasks like content creation, grading, and tracking often overwhelm teachers. What made this effort so meaningful, he added, was a shared frustration: “We’ve seen first-hand how learners fall through the cracks in one-size-fits-all systems. We wanted to change that by building a platform that makes personalised learning possible, practical, and scalable.”

2. What is the core technology or AI model that makes your product or service stand out from competitors?

HeyHi’s technology stands out in a crowded EdTech landscape thanks to its robust, AI-powered teaching and learning engine. Combining generative AI, adaptive learning pathways, and real-time analytics, it allows institutions to transform static content into dynamic learning experiences that adapt to learners in real time.

This foundation allows HeyHi to offer far more than digitised lessons: “Educators can upload their own materials, which we transform into nano-learning content like quizzes, videos, and flashcards. The AI Learning Buddy then supports every learner 24/7—whether in academic or corporate training.”

3. What was the biggest early challenge and how did you push through it?

The team’s early hurdles went beyond engineering. “Personalisation at scale isn’t just a tech problem—it’s a human one,” Glenn noted. The real challenge was translating AI’s potential into tools that solve everyday problems for real educators. “One of our biggest early challenges was aligning AI capabilities with real classroom needs,” he explained.

At one point during our conversation, he reached behind him to grab a notebook—well-worn and filled with notes—to better explain the HeyHi concept. “We worked closely with educators, iterated relentlessly, and stayed focused on real-world impact. Listening, testing, and refining—that’s what got us through.”

The HeyHi Way

If there’s one word Glenn used most often during our conversation, it was empowerment. At its heart, HeyHi aims to be a partner—not a replacement for educators.

1. What is the most important thing you want customers to feel or experience with your product or service?

Glenn was clear: “Whether it’s a teacher, trainer, or admin, we want them to feel that HeyHi saves time, enhances impact, and gives them control.” But it’s not just about convenience. “We want them to see their learners become more engaged, and to feel supported by a co-teacher or a co-instructor they can trust—HeyHi.”

2. Describe your ideal company culture in three words, and give a specific example of how each is lived out daily.

When asked about company culture, Glenn didn’t hesitate: “Empathetic, agile, and purpose-driven.” Each of these values, he shared, directly influences their day-to-day operations. “Empathy guides every product decision. We constantly engage with educators and learners to understand their pain points, ensuring our technology meets real classroom and training needs.” Speed is just as important as insight. “Agility fuels our pace—we move fast, iterate quickly, and aren’t afraid to pivot based on feedback or new insights.” And at the core of it all is a sense of purpose. “Being purpose-driven means our team stays laser-focused on the ‘why’: building technology that truly improves teaching and learning experiences.”

Throughout the interview, many notification pings came through—subtly and quickly dismissed with a chuckle and a “Sorry about that—startup life.” It was a small but revealing moment that reflected the culture Glenn described: responsive, human, and in motion.

3. What’s the single most important metric you track to measure the health and sustainability of your growth?

HeyHi’s focus on meaningful growth is evident in how they measure success. “While user retention remains a core indicator of long-term value, we also track the number of assessment attempts, time saved for educators, and adoption of our AI-powered tools,” Glenn shared. These aren’t vanity metrics—they reflect real engagement. “They reflect both satisfaction and sustained value, which are critical to our growth and scalability.”

The Future Vision

1. How do you ensure your AI systems remain innovative and scalable as the industry evolves?

Behind the platform’s adaptability lies a constant cycle of refinement. “We prioritise domain-specific fine-tuning using real-time learning data,” Glenn shared. This attention to detail ensures relevance across diverse learning environments. “Our modular cloud-based infrastructure ensures we scale securely and seamlessly,” he added. But innovation isn’t just about systems. “Most importantly, we stay close to educators and learners—their feedback drives our roadmap.”

2. What fundamental shift in your industry are you anticipating, and how are you positioning the company to take advantage of it?

Glenn sees a seismic shift underway in education and training: “We anticipate a fundamental shift from static, top-down systems—especially traditional learning management system (LMS) platforms—towards more dynamic, learner-centred experiences driven by AI.”

Not to our surprise, HeyHi is already leading that charge. “We enable institutions to transform their existing materials into adaptive, engaging journeys powered by real-time analytics. That positions us to lead across K–12 and higher education, as well as corporate learning & development (L&D).”

Final Words

When asked for his advice to fellow founders, Glenn’s answer was grounded in experience. “Solve a real pain point,” he said without hesitation. “It’s crucial to talk to your users early and often—beyond the numbers. Understanding what really happens in the field is essential. Technology is powerful, but it’s only valuable when it delivers meaningful impact.”

As our conversation wrapped up, one thing was clear: HeyHi isn’t just building smarter AI—it’s building better learning journeys. Every product decision is grounded in empathy, driven by purpose, and sharpened by feedback from real classrooms. It’s a platform that doesn’t just aim to disrupt, but to empower learners and educators.
